“The Wife!”

I urge a day of your life, 

When I don’t have to be the wife. 

Not because, I have any complaints,

But for a while, I want my own space ! 

When I won’t have to decide on the meals,

And I won’t have to be all day for the kids.

I agree to face your struggle, 

But atleast, I will skip the dull ! 

Not because, I don’t love you all, or am being rough, 

But lately, I haven’t been able to love myself enough. 

When I can just get up and leave, to see an old friend over coffee, 

I can be neatly dressed all day, and be all flossy. 

I agree, you have your own hassle,  

But, I would choose yours, over my scuffle. 

Not because, I believe you are at ease, 

But, this is what sometimes I please. 

When I can laze around and watch my favourite show, 

I can excuse myself for having a tiring day, feeling low. 

I agree, you perfectly do your part,

But mine, is a demanding art. 

Not that, I want to run from all this, 

But, everyday there’s a lot for myself,  I miss. 

I urge a day of your life, 

when I don’t have to be the wife. 

Not that your vows, I mock, 

But mine, never ends, its round the clock!
